David Oliver is a natural leader and has extensive experience leading cross-functional teams, both in complex matrix organizations as well as with small teams, either locally or spread across the globe. David shows his best when faced with challenges, where he takes ownership and engage teams to deliver their best.
Over the years, David Oliver has taken on several general management strategic roles, leading complex organizations such as CEDOM (Spanish Home and Building Automation Association), KNX Association (Spain) and more recently as EMEA Corporate Marketing Manager with Eaton Corporation.
While at Eaton Corporation, David has worked on new growth areas in EMEA-specific market segments, developing strategic initiatives to deliver measurable cross-division results. Some examples includes strategic activities executed in the Middle East, East and West Africa, Turkey or Western Europe. During these activities, David worked closely with Eaton Leadership at the same time as periodically reported to the EMEA Leadership as part of his role.
While leading the Spanish organization in the Home & Building Automation industry, David transformed CEDOM which at the time had little activity, to one known both nationally and internationally as the leading industry organization in the country, with strong ties to all key stakeholders, including government organizations. David acted as the spokesperson and link at Institutional level, such as local and central government, International organizations such as CEN, CENELEC or LonMark, and national and international media, including Industry Events. He represented the Board of Directors and coordinated the regular meetings and action plans.
Similarly, while responsible for KNX in Spain, David Oliver led the largest eight Electrical Manufacturers to coordinate action plans to ensure the KNX Technology was implemented as a de-facto standard in the country, opening a major market opportunity for the member companies. He also acted as spokesperson in all national and international forums and with external stakeholders.
